For Piqua Fish & Game, our partner and charitable affiliations are an exciting way for us to maximize our support for local and national organizations that help those in need. Our affiliated and charitable partnerships are an important part of what Our Club does. We welcome relationships with these affiliations because they align with Our Club's mission and benefit the people who utilize their services.
For 2019, we are very pleased to continue our relationships with Miami County 4-H and The Miami Valley Cowboys. These two organizations utilize Our Club to hold their meetings and events. We are also excited to announce our charitable affiliations this year will be The Warrior Connection, Eagles Wings Stables Inc., and The American Red Cross. In addition to these three wonderful organizations, we will also be conducting various other charitable activities at different times throughout the year to benefit local organizations and to give back to our community.
Our most recent charitable activity was a Food Drive that concluded in December, with our members donating a total of 1,000 non-perishable items to benefit The Miami County Food Pantry and the Bethany Center Cold Shelter.
If anyone would care to make a donation to any of these organizations please visit their associated affiliation pages located on this website for more information on how you can begin the process of donating time, funds or resources.
If you would like to recommend organizations for future consideration or have volunteer opportunities please email recommendations to PiquaFishandGame@gmail.com
4-H is a non-formal educational, youth development program offered to individuals age 5 and in kindergarten to age 19. Ohio 4-H youth development reaches more than 240,000 youth each year – helping kids “learn by doing” through hands-on activities.
All 4-H programs focus on active involvement and quality experiences which stimulate lifelong learning of values and skills. 4-H members learn valuable lessons in leadership, communication and collaboration while increasing their knowledge in math, science, technology and a variety of other topics.
Piqua Fish & Game is proud to help support the Miami County 4-H Trapshooters through our yearly club donations and hosting their shooting events.

The Miami Valley Cowboys were established in March of 2001 as part of The Piqua Fish & Game Protective Association. Our cowboy facility, better know as Hard Times, is located at the shooting ranges of Piqua Fish & Game. Our site consists of 12 stages and a 135 yard long-rifle range. Hard Times was built under the guidance of the NRA and stresses safety by design. We have themed stages and platforms of all types to enjoy.
The Miami Valley Cowboys organization is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA) and The Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). SASS is an international organization created to preserve and promote the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting™. SASS endorses regional matches conducted by affiliated clubs, stages END of TRAIL—The World Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting, promulgates rules and procedures to ensure safety and consistency in Cowboy Action Shooting matches, and seeks to protect its members' 2nd Amendment rights. SASS members share a common interest in preserving the history of the Old West and competitive shooting.
Cowboy Action Shooting is a multi-faceted shooting sport in which contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West: single action revolvers, pistol caliber lever action rifles, and old time shotguns. The shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, "Old West" style. It is a timed sport in which shooters compete for prestige on a course of different shooting stages. Each scenario, as they are called, features an array of situations, many based on famous incidents or movies scenes, in which the shooters must test their mettle against steel targets.
One of the unique aspects of SASS approved Cowboy Action Shooting™ is the requirement placed on costuming. Each participant is required to adopt a shooting alias appropriate to a character or profession of the late 19th century, a Hollywood western star, or an appropriate character from fiction. Their costume is then developed accordingly. Many event participants gain more enjoyment from the costuming aspect of our sport than from the shooting competition, itself. Regardless of a SASS member's individual area of interest, SASS events provide regular opportunities for fellowship and fun with like-minded folks and families.
The Warrior Connection (TWC) provides residential retreats and services to Veterans and their families to heal the invisible injuries incurred while in uniform. TWC offers specialized programs for military men, women, and their families. Aside from a small commitment fee, programs and services provided by TWC are free and open to Veterans and families of all eras. The Warrior Connection is rehabilitating PTSD and MST - breaking the cycle so healing begins and can continue.
TWC is the only program combining six proven modalities of healing in an immersive and residential setting through Individual mentoring, Group coaching, Spirituality, Expressive arts, Nature activities, and Mindfulness.
In 2009, our founder, Dr. Anne Black, recognized a higher calling into a community of men and women wounded in a mental, spiritual, or moral way, as a result of their military service. Dr. Black responded to that call with the creation and launch of The Warrior Connection (TWC).
Since that time, the work has evolved, the retreats refined, and additional facilitation teams trained and activated. Now, exclusively through the generosity of private donors, TWC has served hundreds of Veterans and their families. Thanks to critical partnerships and corporate sponsors, TWC provides transportation to our retreats and has helped Veterans and spouses from 32 US states.
With the fundraising campaigns Aim To Zero and Give Me Ten, The Warrior Connection helps to ensure veterans and their families can attend our life-saving retreats. Hundreds of Veterans have attended our programs and we have not lost a single one!
Corporate sponsorship opportunities and volunteers are also welcomed. Please contact Aaron, our Executive Director, for more information at aaron@warriorconnection.org. Your generosity enables TWC to keep fighting for veterans & their families, healing invisible wounds. Healthier veterans strengthen families and improve communities across our nation. Thank you for choosing to make a difference. Every bit helps. - Team TWC
